"SORRY? CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
Jan. 7th, 2010 12:37 amI'm making this post wearing ear plugs!
While Lindsey and I were in Atlanta, a pipe busted in our house. Our cat-sitter came in one evening and alerted us that there was all of this water streaming down into the kitchen. Good times. Thankfully, she called us as soon as she knew, and we got the landlords on the phone immediately. They've been really quick about getting things handled -- there've been Water Damage Cleanup Guys in and out of the house for the past few days.
Now the floor, ceiling, and cabinetry in the kitchen are all ripped out, and all the (damp) stuff that was in the kitchen is stacked up in the living room. And the house is full of giant fans, dehumidifiers, and this crazy setup that appears to be sucking water out of the floor with big tubes. (the water damage guys came in and set all of these up)
We have earplugs -- but poor kitties! It's like a vacuum cleaner that they can't run away from!
Thankfully, all of our computers and books and stuff are OK; the damage was just in the kitchen. It'll be good once our house is put back together, or at least when we can turn off the in-house wind tunnel. Friday, they're saying.
