interactions don't always work out right
Jul. 16th, 2010 12:18 amI was walking down 14th Street, and a guy was handing out CDs to passers-by, or anybody who was interested.
Somewhat interested, I let him hand me one. "It's comedy hip hop!" he explained; my interpretation was that he was the rapper involved, trying to get the word out about his music. I was going to take one, and he asked my name and then signed the CD, but then he wanted some money (a tip, he explained, but hadn't mentioned beforehand), and I wasn't sure if I had any small bills and didn't really feel like pulling out my wallet in mid foot-traffic-stream...
So the interaction was ruined, and I didn't get the CD; what I should have said was, "how about I blog about it and link to your website!" (surely he's got a myspace or something). Alternatively, I could have just gone somewhere else and made sure that I had some small bills handy.
But now: you don't get a comedy hip hop review or even a link.
Hey! HOPE is tomorrow!
