I think I found the winning strategy: cool online security class!
It fits the dumb distribution requirements too. So the only question is whether I should take the cool AI class as well. I spoke with the professor, and he said that I could probably do something that I was going to do for Mike anyway as the class project. That sounds promising, and the extra guidance might be helpful anyway, considering that Mike will be travelling abroad for most of the semester.
OK, now to stop fretting about Spring and deal with my pile of stuff to finish up this semester. Somehow, planning and re-planning Spring is more instantly-gratifying than grading.
