doing strange things in public
May. 18th, 2008 09:56 pmLast night: out running through Buckhead. I get a lot of hollered comments when I run at night, "run, Forrest, run!" being the most common. Clever!
This afternoon, unicycling through the park. Pretty much everybody seems amused when a unicyclist goes by, particularly little kids. That feels good :) I have a clown instinct.
While out in the park, I came across a group of young-ish maybe-Brazilian people with amazing dreads, hanging out and playing berimbaus. One man was doing the most gentle ginga, cradling a tiny little baby in his arms. The little kids with them were doing a little bit of capoeira, but mostly just playing soccer. Eventually, he put down the baby, and he and another guy started playing some amazingly chill (but very practiced) Angola -- roughly at Tai Chi speed. I just sat and watched for a while.
