Merry Christmas from Iowa!

I'm sitting on the couch with
lindseykuper at her family's house -- they live on a farm outside Ackley, IA. There's an enormous fluffy dog (Wally
yourusername) and a bunch of friendly cats.
Yesterday, Lindsey and I decided to brave the elements and go running! First we tried the park, but the snow was really deep, resulting in more jumping than running. We then tried the plowed streets of downtown Ackley, which was alright for a while, but I wimped out in the 6-degrees-Fahrenheit weather. My gloves seemed so thick, back in Atlanta. It's lovely here, though.
I had an interesting chunk of conversation with Lindsey's dad Keith
yourusername and Maya
leadsynth, about talking about the weather. Here, there's apparently a call-in talk radio show for weather discussion, which sounds weird until you consider that everybody here is involved with farming. Also, he showed me his inversion table, which he uses to stretch out his back, prior to yoga.
And there's been so much delicious food, which we've been eating while visiting with the grandparents, Keith's sister Kathy, and Kathy's husband Alois. Lindsey's mom Marian
deepdistraction made this great carrot soup with carrots she grew personally.
We'll be back in Atlanta on Saturday.
