I don't have a userpic with an anime-looking guy with green hair raising his eyebrow. I have a userpic of me hopping across a gap in a little wall, in Spain.

What's going on, LJ?

(for future reference, in case it's fixed, it looks like this:

LJ often does this, to hilarious effect. Mostly we just roll our eyes and move on. It rights itself eventually.

I had this happening to me a while ago, wherein the icon I'm using in this comment was sometimes swapped with an icon of Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin.

It's a known issue (http://www.livejournal.com/support/), though if you can't fix it by clearing your cache, they suggest you open up a support request (http://www.livejournal.com/support/submit.bml). I had to go the support-ticket route, and about two days after opening the ticket, I got a "Okay, check it now, it should be fixed" message. It's been fine since.

The oddness of this issue is driven home by the fact that this morning, when I posted from my house, your post had the icon of you jumping. Now, at work, it has the anime face.

I had an icon of a bunny with a colored Venn diagram behind him and it was replaced with some redheaded chick.
