stuff I should know

I got a book about Statistical Machine Translation. It's called Statistical Machine Translation, by Philipp Koehn, who's really well-regarded in the field. It's full of things that I almost know, but should definitely know for sure!
So I'm going to sit down and read it, for at least half an hour every day, front to back, although I'll skip over stuff I definitely already know.
It's not like I don't spend at least half an hour staring off into space, and another half-hour refreshing my email/twitter/news/LJ.
It's not like you don't spend at least half an hour staring off into space, and another half-hour refreshing things.
What should you be doing more regularly, that wouldn't take much time?

Date: 2010-10-27 06:24 pm (UTC)Speaking of making music -- I did some rocking out with friends Eric and Andy last night. It felt really good. We played bad renditions of 90s alt-rock songs, including several from bands that include[d] Dave Grohl! Eric is a really accomplished bassist, and not shabby on the gee-tar either!
We should shred some time. Or "Rock Band: REAL LIFETM" as Eric calls it.
