There's a lemon tree in our back yard!

I am currently drinking lemonade made from a lemon I juiced.

Life is rough.

My Mother[who has no patience for baking]'s [extremely easy/fast/low-cleanup] Lemon Bars
Preheat oven to 350°. In a 9"x9" pan, mix together:
1/2 c melted butter
1 c flour
1/4 c powdered sugar

Pat down and bake for 15 min.

Meanwhile, mix in a bowl:
2 beaten eggs
1 c sugar
1/2 c lemon juice (but like, whatever, probably use a full cup of it)
2 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Pour over top, bake for 25 minutes.

Also, this lemon curd recipe (http://www.finecooking.com/recipes/lemon_curd.aspx), with an extra yolk and 1.5x lemon juice, was A+ delicious and felt really foolproof.

Yeahhhh. When we moved in and it became apparent that tree was going to give us lemons, it was shortly after everyone had been talking about lemon curd on Zulip, and I'm super curious, never having tried it. We seem to have used up the mature lemons*, but there'll be more coming along later!

* Which surprises me; I thought there were a lot more. Maybe a...raccoon took them?! I don't know. I don't understand California yet.

Congratulations on your 32nd Birthday! Hope you are happily settling in to west coast life and that it is fabulous to once again be near some of your favorite old friends. Lemons are among my favorite foods -- I am envious!
