  1. Do you sing in the car, when you're driving alone, say on a long roadtrip? (also: where else do you sing, if not in the car?)
  2. Is there anyone with whom you're comfortable doing the driving-and-singing thing, the same way you'd sing when you're alone?
  3. What's your relationship with that person?

Oh yes, and on that last entry, the link to nique.net? This contains Andrew's brilliant photagraphy and my attempt to break into the modeling world (which is to say, there's a stupid picture of me in The Technique, which is the GT campus newspaper, and I think it's amusing). So you should click that, because it's funny.

  1. Oh, I sing, baby. I'm almost always driving with music, if it's more than a few miles. I howl, I try to harmonize, I belt out, I imitate the vocalist (or sometimes the instruments), or sing something totally different.
  2. ... oddly, no. I'll sing a bit, with other people in the car, but certainly not the same way.
  3. ... I need to meet somebody like that... that would be interesting or deeply strange (although only meta-strange, because I'd have to be comfortable enough around this person to sing very loud, while in the car)

  1. Yes, I sing loudly and obnoxiously while I'm driving alone. I also beat my hands on the steering wheel and move around in the seat.
  2. There are a few people: some of my sisters and some of my friends. Generally the decision is an estimate of how much the other person will mind. I don't think I really let go as much with another person around as it is horribly annoying.
  3. I know these people pretty well and know that they will probably just ignore me or perhaps sing along. I know that they all probably like cheese (Who are we kidding here? Everyone likes cheese).

I do sing in the car. Including steering-wheel drumming and crazy faces and sometimes hand motions.

I generally don't do it with other people around. Sometimes I'll sing very quietly, but never with the animation that I have when I am alone. On certain songs, with certain people, I'll go all out. Probably the person I'm mostly likely to sing like that with would be my brother. He grew up with me, so I don't have to fear that he'll think I'm a dork.

1. Yes. Plus I sing everywhere else. But not necessarily like when I'm in the car.
2. Hmm, my sister and I will sometimes sing really loud in the car together, the kind of thing where I'll try to hit the notes where I barely can (and sometimes fail miserably).
3. I guess I already answered this one...

I have started losing my inhibitions about forceful singing, now that I'm in this band and we're practicing a lot. Part of it is that some of our songs are kind of emo sounding, and you have to be willing so push your vocal limits on those. And part of it is that we're really comfortable with each other, we don't have a problem sounding bad and don't mind being told "you need to bring that down an octave/decibel or two."

1. Yep, I sing in the car. The greatest feeling in the world is driving down the highway with the windows rolled down, belting out the lyrics to one of my favorite songs. :-)
2. There are a few people I'll sing with. Christin is always a good singing partner, as she'll sing just as loud, if not louder, than I. :-) We don't even have to be in the car to burst into song. Bradley and I will sing together.
3. Christin is the best friend, Bradley is the brother. Oddly enough, I haven't gotten comfortable enough to sing with Dustin, the boyfriend, in the car yet. I'll sing a little bit, but it's always very quiet, despite his coaxing that I'm a good singer.

1. Quite. You should have seen me driving up to the home place yesterday. >:D There's just something about Atlanta rush hour traffic that requires singing along very loudly and with Soul. I got several funny looks.
2. Three people, I think.
3. One is one of my Anytown people, another is a pseudo-Anytown person, and the third is one of my best friends since we met in math class in seventh grade by drawing mean (and amusing) pictures of each other. ([livejournal.com profile] nato.)

1. I sing in the car alone all the time. You should talk to Peter and Mike about the time we were driving home and it looked to them like I was cursing at them when I was really just singing along to a very angry song in "The Scarlet Pimpernel."

2. I will occasionally sing along to songs with Christin and with a few other people, but it highly depends on the song.

3. Definitely my girlfriend. ^___^

   1) Yes, quite often. I also sing in the shower, when I'm mowing the lawn,(or engaged in any other tedious, mind-numbing job) and occasionally when I'm sitting in front of my computer.(though not on this occasion) Pretty much, I'm at risk of breaking spontaneously into song whenever I feel no one else is around to hear. (So if a deaf person sings to themselves when no one is around to hear...)

   2) Occasionally I will sing along with a group if singing is encouraged and I'm familiar with the song. Otherwise, I can only see myself singing with close family members,(my sister or my mother) and only then if we're both in a silly mood.(Come to think of it, I wouldn't sing with my mother in the car, because she's never in a silly mood.(At least not that I can tell)) When I sing by myself, however, I put so much more feeling into it than when there are others around. I don't think I'd ever sing that way if I knew others were listening.

   3) I suppose my answer to #2 leaves only my sister, though as I said I still wouldn't sing the same way I would when I was by myself. So I guess the only correct answer to #3 would be: Myself. And my relationship with myself depends on what mood I'm in, and which two personalities you're talking about.

1)constantly singing in the car. Love it, i listen to music to sing along with it.

2) I'll sing with almost anyone, i guess i have a low level of embarassment as far as singing in the car, cause well everyone does it, but specifically BG, Aries, Daniel and of course Kevin

3) I live with Aries, Kev's the boyfriend, and BG and Daniel are good friends, but seriously i'll sing with random sorority sisters in the car, or just people in general. :)

1. Yes. I sing on short roadtrips, too.

2. No. It has nothing to do with comfort, but it's just a me alone thing. I'll sing with some people, but not belt out the way I do when I'm alone.

3. If I semi-belt out with anyone, it's my fiancé, my two best Erskine friends, or my grandmother's younger sister.

1. Yes, there has to be singing on roadtrips. If I didn't sing along, I would probably just start jabbering to myself.

2. First and foremost, my little brother John is EXCELLENT for singing in the car with. He's very over-the-top, the same way I am, when it comes to things like that. He's the only person I'll pick wierd parts to sing, too--like, he almost always does the beat box, and I'll try to sing harmony to whatever we're listening to, even though we both fail miserably at that. I'll also sing along with gusto with Elizabeth and Ross, and I'll always chime in if somebody starts first, no matter who they are.

3. John is my brother, Elizabeth is my best friend, and Ross is my beau. :-D
