small number of things
May. 20th, 2004 03:07 amSo there's this more mature-adult-ish fellow in my Theory class, which is top of cool. The idea of people going back for more school after having been out in the real world for a while is a really cool one, and I was wondering if his experience is anything like the one the maternal unit
dramamamalama had been going through...
So hot on the trail of a suspected-interesting story, I went spoke with him. It turns out that his name is Victor, and he'd had his own business doing computer-y things for about 25 years, which he recently sold so's he could come back and get a masters (and possibly later a doctorate, he said) in CS. He's all hooked up with a research job with Tucker, and apparently they've been working on these little tiny robots that communicate via IR and trying to get those to help other robots plan paths through rooms... apparently they've built these things pretty much from scratch. Victor gets many Cool Points.
On the other end, sometimes life seems bleak and the universe feels cold and barely inhabitable.
But on the other other end, you can find, for numbers n >= 2, some collection of prime numbers that sums to n. Well, I mean, duh. If it's 2, then you're done, because {2} sums to 2. If it's odd, then it's either 3, or could be expressed as 3 + 2k for some int k, and if it's even, then it's 2k for some int k. Okay, never mind, that wasn't that interesting. Maybe life is still bleak.
*laughs* Okay, I should get back to wr0k.
