Most of your bodies mostly work, kidlets.
Jan. 19th, 2006 05:03 pmA friend of mine sat down in the lab today and remarked, "oh man, for people with non-bent backs, this would be great chair for posture"... this led into a discussion of how his back is badly curved, like in a C-shape backwards... I'd always assumed he just had a Geek Hunch, but it turns out that his body is actively compensating for a weirdly-shaped spine. And he looks like he's in pain when he's moving, most of the time. He confided that sleep is super-difficult, because his neck doesn't straighten out to let him put his head down, ever...
Guh.
And I totally used trigonometry to help out this particular friend today (not super-surprising; we're futzing with diagrams). Thank you, Mrs. Thurmond.
But most of your bodies work. Go and enjoy. Lift a weight. Swim a lap. Run down a sidewalk. Life's too short.
